Sorry. Not sorry! But when you’re leading into a blog about a fishing competition who can resist a heading like this?

Recently, we were approached by OBC (Outboard Boating Club of Auckland Inc) about gifting a prize for their Nauti Girls Fishing Competition.

As this epic fishing competition, always donates to Make A Wish Foundation, we were hooked.

This event has been running for 13 years and takes place on a Saturday and Sunday (weather dependent). We had to giggle when we read this on the website:

“If the skipper of the vessel is male their job is to do ‘almost everything’ for the ladies.”

So if you’re an angler, and female you may be interested in knowing more about this event at which approximately 100 ladies attend. It’s a fantastic day that leads into the evening. After the day out on the boat, everyone returns to celebrate with a big party. Dressing as your favourite food is optional and yummy. They have prize giving, gourmet food, DJ & dancing.

We pick and choose very carefully causes we like to donate to, and charities such as Make A Wish Foundation are definitely one we’re happy to align with. My Canvas is therefore happy to be donating a one hundred dollar voucher to spend to turn a special photo into a canvas, (does not have to be fishing related!)
